This work was inspired by a conversation I once had with a close friend. We had spontaneously taken the Star Ferry in Hong Kong at night and talked about how some of these little, inexpensive things brought us so much joy day by day. I think many people take them for granted or are unaware of their effect on their daily lives. In my personal life, I have been struggling with mental illness and low mood for a couple of years, and in the end, the best cure has always been finding small pockets of joy in your day. Little things that can pull you out of a rut or make a rainy day a little bit brighter (even though I really enjoy rain). The titles and captions were animated by hand in Procreate.
